One thing that has crossed my mind a lot this month is people's constant search for "Consistency" within their game, but also their unwillingness to actually be consistent about how they approach the structure of their practice routines and even their assessing their performance.
As golfers I feel like all to often we are reacting round to round and even sometimes shot to shot, rather than just sticking to our process and commitments. It can become a battle all too fast and it is usually is a result of our own poor mental clarity above all else.
For me the rules should be simple:
Set a Plan
Stick to the Plan
Assess how successful a plan has been over a reasonable period of time
Create a new plan or adjust the old plan
Repeat
If we stick to this process and marry it with good information, there is really no reason that we should not improve as a result.
